Immune-Boosting Mango & Pineapple Smoothie Bowl

Now that we are creeping ever closer to February, I am more excited than ever for spring! Who’s with me?

Over the last few weeks, I’ve grown tired of the cold, the rain, the dreary grey skies. I long for colour, for sunshine and warmth, for longer days and for beautiful spring blooms! Yet, above all else, I am sick of these endless winter bugs!

Almost every week, someone in our house has some kind of sniffle or snuffle. A sore throat here, a runny nose there. A wracking, chesty cough. Or an upset tum or sickness bug. Is it just me or has winter gone on FOREVER?!

Anyway, if you need a spring in your step, then here is the ultimate winter warrior. Today, I am bringing a little bit of spring sunshine your way with this gorgeous, sunny immune-boosting smoothie bowl!

Made with tropical flavours and fruits, including mango, pineapple and lime, which are blended with coconut milk, it’s a summer holiday in a bowl!

Each of the ingredients also packs a powerful punch when it comes to immune boosting. Especially when pared with one of my favourite health supplements around, Unbeelievable Bee Prepared Max Strength Immune Formula.

These nifty little pills really are the bees knees and have won all kinds of awards. They contain body-boosting wonders including reishi mushroom & astaxanthin, bee propolis, black elderberry, olive leaf, acerola cherry and beta glucans. And, let me tell you, they work MIRACLES at supporting the body when you’re run down! I couldn’t love them more, and they are great for kids, too.

Anyway, if you DO need a little bit of help, or if you feeling like you’re coming down with something, then take a breather, do something for you (run a bath, read a book, hide in the pantry if you’re surrounded by kids…! 😉 ) and then make this bowl!

Want to know why you need this yellow bowl of happiness? It contains:

Mango – full of vitamins C and A, mango is wonderful for strengthening the immune system. Plus, it contains all sorts of carotenoids to keep you in tip-top shape!

Pineapple – Juicy pineapple is also great at strengthening and supporting our bodies. It’s full of body-loving vitamin C, as well as anti-inflammatory bromelain.

Ginger – As well as adding a touch of spice and heat to meals and smoothies, ginger is an anti-oxidant and an anti-inflammatory.

Turmeric – This beautiful yellow spice contains curcumin, which has powerful anti-oxidant properties which have been used for centuries. Curcumin is known to be a powerful anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant.

Lime – Mouth-watering limes are also full of vitamin C, and help to cleanse and strengthen the body. They can even stimulate digestion!

Cauliflower – It might sound weird, but cauliflower in a smoothie is pretty undetectable! It also adds a creamy texture and, surprisingly, is also full of vitamin C and other antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds.

What are your favourite winter warriors in the fight against colds?
