DIY Bee Pollen Face Mask

Ever since I started chatting to the lovely Fi of The Beauty Shortlist, I’ve been a huge fan of natural beauty.

Perhaps it’s partly down to being a mum, perhaps it’s more an age thing (shhh), but I just don’t have time for products laden with chemicals, harsh ingredients and things I can’t even read, let alone know what they are!

Since my mid-20s, much of myย beauty regime (I think 100%, in fact) is made up of natural skincare products, with brands like Weleda, Aurelia and the wonderful Micheline Arcierย taking pride of place in my bathroom cabinets.

Of course, taking care of your skin naturally doesn’t always mean you have to splurge – and there are plenty of DIY recipes and tips I’ve picked up over the last few years!

One of my favourites is this beautiful, anti-ageing bee pollen face mask. I absolutely love bee pollen (sprinkle into smoothies, yoghurt, whatever you fancy!) as it’s one of nature’s most nourishing superfoods, containing about half of all the nutrients we could ever hope to need. Bee pollen is also around 40% protein, can be used to prevent and treat hay fever and is just utterly delicious.

However, what I didn’t realise was that among bee pollen’s many health benefits is that it’s also a superhero for the skin. Full of skin-loving goodness such as zinc, silica and anti-oxidants, it really is wonderful for helping to plump the skin and give a lasting glow.

Don’t believe me? Have a go for yourself and try this nifty little face mask. Enjoy!
